Casino Floor: What To Expect When You Arrive

The Star Gold Coast Casino runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is the standard pattern here. Our gaming floor is set out on a single level at 157 Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach QLD 4218, so moving between areas stays straightforward whether it is your first visit or you know the place well. Short shutdowns apply on Good Friday, ANZAC Day and Christmas Day under Queensland rules, but outside those public holiday windows the floor stays open.

On that one level we host more than 70 table games and upwards of 1,400 gaming machines. You will find blackjack, roulette and baccarat in familiar formats, alongside a large mix of electronic machines. Entry is restricted to guests who are 18 years or older, and we check acceptable ID at every access point, every time.

Poker tables are available within the main casino floor for guests who prefer that format. Access is through the same entrances as the rest of the casino and follows the same ID checks, with no extra sign-up process needed at the door.

Planning Your Visit

Our resort sits on Broadbeach Island beside the Nerang River, just a short distance from central Broadbeach. That means getting here is usually fairly direct. We provide on-site parking, and public transport routes operate through the surrounding area. If you are travelling from elsewhere along the Gold Coast, it is worth checking current bus, light rail or taxi options ahead of time rather than assuming everything will match your schedule.

A few things are easier to arrange before you arrive:

1. Visit star.com.au/goldcoast/whats-on and check the What’s On calendar. Floor changes, live shows and scheduled events can affect which areas are operating on a specific day.
2. Bring valid photo identification that proves you are 18 or older. Entry to the casino floor is not possible without it.
3. If you plan to join The Star Club loyalty program, you can complete part of the registration at thestarclub.com.au, or simply visit the membership desk once you are on site.

5. If you need a room, book accommodation well ahead for peak Gold Coast periods. Demand can move faster than visitors expect.
6. Set a personal spend limit for your gaming before you reach the floor. Doing this at home or in your hotel room is usually easier than trying to decide in the moment.

Make sure you have a valid age-verification document with you and review your transport options to the resort in advance to help your visit go smoothly.

The broader complex is built as a place where guests can stay for several days. You can move between the casino, hotel towers, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues without leaving the property. For some people that is very convenient, but it can also make a schedule disappear quickly if you are not watching the time.

The Star Club Loyalty Program

The Star Club is our shared loyalty program that links The Star Gold Coast with The Star Sydney and other Star Entertainment Group venues. When you are a member, you earn Casino Dollars and Tier Points not just from gaming, but also from eligible hotel stays and dining at participating outlets. Those points and Casino Dollars accumulate and can later be used toward gaming credit, accommodation or food and beverage purchases.

Your membership tier affects how fast you earn and what is available to you. As your tier level increases, you may unlock priority access, better redemption value and extra benefits right across the group network. You can start your registration at thestarclub.com.au or complete it in person at the membership desk inside the resort.

Tier Points and Casino Dollars earned at The Star Gold Coast count toward your Star Club status across all participating properties. It is important to carry your Star Club card or have your linked account details ready whenever you use an eligible service on the property. If the card is not presented, those visits generally will not be recorded to your account.

Accommodation and Dining

Within the resort, The Star Grand is one of the main hotels, with the broader resort set across roughly 7 acres of landscaped gardens, featuring an outdoor pool and direct internal access to the casino floor. Room types range from standard hotel rooms to suites and apartment-style accommodation, and across multiple towers there are more than 1,000 rooms available. It is a large footprint, so guests often find a room type that matches how they like to stay.

On the food and drink side, the property is home to 11 restaurants and 6 bars, including Kiyomi and Nineteen at The Star. The mix runs from more formal restaurant dining to casual bar spaces. If you are staying for several nights, it helps that you do not have to return to the same venue each time unless you choose to.

We also host conferences and events. On site there is a ballroom, a theatre and a series of function rooms that can be configured for corporate events, private celebrations or larger entertainment formats. Development work continues across the property as part of our long-term expansion plans.

Entertainment and Events

At The Star Gold Coast our entertainment program runs across the week, not only on Friday and Saturday nights. Regular recurring events include Movie Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays, Jazz and Gin Thursdays and Comedy Club Sundays. Across the year, we also schedule live concerts, line dancing and seasonal one-off events such as Melbourne Cup viewing.

If you want to book an event:

1. Go to star.com.au/goldcoast/whats-on and scroll through the upcoming listings.
2. Choose your preferred date and check that seats or tickets are available.
3. Follow the booking prompts on the event page. For some shows, you will be taken to an external ticketing platform to complete the purchase.
4. For private group bookings or event-specific questions, contact [email protected] and include your preferred dates and approximate numbers.
5. Keep your booking confirmation and reference number ready, as you may be asked to show it on entry.

The mix of recurring events, live music and special occasions is broad enough that on most days there will be at least one scheduled activity. That is very much the intention behind the weekly calendar.

A Bit of History

Our property first opened in November 1985 under the name Conrad Jupiters and was Queensland’s first legal casino. Before construction, the land on Broadbeach Island was used as a caravan park. The Conrad name was removed in 2010, and the venue traded as Jupiters Hotel and Casino until 2017, when we rebranded into The Star family. Since then, the property has been known as The Star Gold Coast.

Over time there has been a clear move from a stand-alone casino towards a larger integrated resort. Capital projects since the rebrand have focused on adding hotel capacity, refreshing dining and entertainment spaces and introducing new accommodation brands onto the site. Further development stages remain in progress as of 2026. The Star Gold Coast now sits alongside The Star Sydney and Star Entertainment Group’s Brisbane projects as part of a broader portfolio. Each venue still operates its own property-specific offering but shares The Star Club rewards structure and group-level branding.
